Farnam®
The first action to take is to remove the cause of the splint as much as possible. Causes include unbalanced hooves, excessive weight, excessive exercise especially on hard surfaces particularly with young, growing horses, imbalanced feed especially high in protein and energy given to rapidly growing colts and fillies, alfalfa although an excellent forage is best fed to young, rapidly growing colts and fillies in a grass mixture, and toe-out or splayed foreleg conformation.
Horses with older splints that do not cause clinical lameness can be used without interruption to conditioning, training, showing and every day use during treatment with Splintex Gold.
Clinical trials indicate that Splintex is totally effective without causing pain of irritation, burning or blistering.
Interruption to the horse's daily routine is usually not required unless lameness is present.
Directions:
(1) Shake before use.
(2) Apply normally with supplied brush.
(3) Bandaging is optional.
(4) Continue as required.
Important: Do not mix with DMSO.
